How to reach The Passing Place with a correction, a source, a question about hiring or driving in the Western Isles, or a photograph to identify.
One address reaches the desk: contact@lewis-car-rental.com. It is read in the order it arrives, and a message that names a card and quotes the line at fault is answered first.
What is worth writing about
- A correction. A timetable that has changed, a rule that has moved, a gradient or a road end that is not where a card says it is. Send the card's call number (HI, RD, FY or SE) and the line.
- A source. A harbour notice, an operator's condition, a council road notice or a guidance document the desk has not read. We credit the source on the card it changes.
- A question. If it is one that other drivers will ask, it becomes a card. If it is about a specific booking, the operator who holds the booking is the only desk that can answer it.
- A place. A slipway, a passing place, a fuel stop or a road end worth adding to a route card.
Photographs
If you send a photograph, say where it was taken, on what date, and whether the desk may publish it with a credit. Photographs that show a person's face or a registration plate are not published.
Messages are kept only as long as it takes to answer them and to file the correction.
